Alberta coverage?

There is a possibility I might move to Alberta in the next year or two. Friends are now telling me that if your only disability is blindness, you aren't accepted for Alberta's disability benefits (AISH). Is there anyone on here with more info or anyone who is on AISH benefits already, for blindness?
